B.K. Smith is a Texas author, U.S. Air Force veteran, and police officer. He writes science fiction, post-apocalyptic fiction, and stories rooted in small-town Texas. His What Comes After series begins with Break Quarantine and explores survival, rebuilding, and the people left to figure out what comes next.
Born in La Vernia, Texas, Smith joined the Air Force to find out what existed beyond the state line. After several years away, he decided Texas had been a pretty good arrangement all along. He now lives there with his wife, balancing a career in law enforcement with writing about people whose problems he’s grateful are not his own.
